The Top 5 Berries For Detoxing & Fighting Belly Fat
Detox With Thomas Now: https://ift.tt/2wPFZGh How many have you heard that eating fruit on a weight loss plan is a bad idea? Well, this so-called rule stems from the fact that fruits contain sugar. You see, while it’s true that fruits do contain sugar - it’s actually a completely natural source... Where as fake sugars, like those found in processed, packaged snack foods, cereals and candy are actually man-made. These synthetic forms of sugar negatively impact our hormones and are completely linked to fat gain. While the sugar is natural and is much better for you, eating certain fruits in excess that contain high sugar and no fiber can cause weight gain. Examples of these low fiber high sugary fruits are dates, watermelon, and pineapple to name a few. So be sure to limit your intake to a few servings a week. However when it comes to berries - these are fruits that I recommend consuming on a daily basis. And that’s because they are packed with antioxidants. High-antioxidant foods like berries keep you healthy and, if sick, can bring you back to good health as well as promote weight loss and healthy aging. And that’s exactly why I’ve included my top 5 most nutrient-dense berries within my Green Detox formula. -Cranberries - cranberries are one of the top antioxidant-rich foods, packing in more antioxidants ounce-for-ounce than other "superfoods" like spinach, blueberries, or even green tea. They’ve been shown to have an anti-inflammatory effect, which can decrease stress in the body and potentially benefit conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and stomach and digestive disorders. -Goji - Goji berries contain a wide range of phytonutrients, vitamins, and trace minerals, giving them the name “superfood berries” by many health experts. In fact, according a study published by the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, goji berry benefits include experiencing increased ratings for energy levels, athletic performance, quality of sleep, ease of awakening, ability to focus on activities, mental acuity, calmness, feelings of health, contentment, and happiness and significantly reduced fatigue and stress. -Pomegranate - Pomegranates have antioxidant, antiviral, and anti-tumor properties and are said to be a good source of vitamins, especially vitamin A, C, and E, as well as folic acid. Pomegranates have been traditionally used for clearing up the skin and reducing inflammation, calming stomach disorders and Research published in the Journal of Urology even stated that this fruit can be very helpful in curing erectile dysfunctions. -Acai - On top of providing many antioxidants just like other varieties of berries do, acai berries are also believed to help control appetite hormones, increase energy, prevent heart disease and help with many metabolic functions. It’s possible that acai facilitates the breakdown of fats and carbohydrates and also helps lower the desire to overeat, which is a direct way to help stay at a healthy body weight. -Acerola - In addition to a wealth of antioxidants and one of the highest concentrations of vitamin C in any fruit. The carotenoids in acerola help to protect your eye health and boost the health of your skin, while bioflavonoids help to boost your cognitive function and promote healthy aging. One delicious suggestion I have is making superfood parfaits! All you have to do is get 1 cup of plain non-fat Greek yogurt, a couple rice cakes and a good handful of these berries. Grab a glass or bowl, place 1 crushed up rice cake at the bottom, add a layer of yogurt (½ cup), a layer of berries, the remaining crushed up rice cake, another layer of yogurt (½ cup) and top if off with the remaining berries and there you go! I recommend enjoying this superfood parfait before bedtime because you’ll be getting a good dose of probiotics to help absorb and digest the nutrients in these super berries during your slumber. Now if you want a less involved method that doesn’t require you to grocery shop for these berries on a weekly basis, you can opt for a supplement form which is a more practical everyday option. In fact, that’s why I added a gently dried powder form of these berries into my Science-Based Green Detox drink mix. Now in tomorrow’s video, I’ll be discussing another gray area of nutrition… how to actually get the most nutrition out of the vegetables we eat. And what it comes down to is actually eating the part of the vegetable that most people throw away! Now I will be releasing these greens at the end of the week - and along with that, a free gift to the first 100 viewers who get started with Green Detox right away - so be sure you stay tuned in to learn how you can get yours.
