He was living in a trailer with his wife, Tabitha, and working hard jobs just to pay the bills. He wrote a book called Carrie, but 30 publishers told him "no." He felt so bad that he threw his book in the trash. But Tabitha believed in him. She picked it out of the garbage and told him to keep trying. Because he listened and kept going, that one book sold over a million copies and changed his life forever. ✎ Things were not always easy for King even after he got famous. He wrote huge hits like The Shining and It, but he also had a hard time with addiction and even got hit by a van while walking. He was hurt very badly and could only sit for 40 minutes at a time, but he still wrote his book On Writing. He proved that you can get back up after life knocks you down. He didn't just write for money; he wrote because he loved it.
