This video tells the story of how he lived in shelters and public bathrooms with his son Christopher while training to be a stock broker. You will learn about his childhood in Milwaukee and how his mother Betty Jean taught him to believe in his dreams. He joined the Navy and later met a man named Bob Bridges who drove a red Ferrari and worked on Wall Street. That meeting changed his life because it gave him a goal to work toward. ✎ Even when things were very hard, Chris Gardner never gave up on his goal. He worked at Dean Witter and Bear Stearns before starting his own firm with a small wooden desk. He followed the advice of Pastor Cecil Williams who told him that baby steps count too. This means that making small progress every day is the key to winning big later. The video also shows how his life became a famous book and a movie called The Pursuit of Happiness starring Will Smith and Jaden Smith. He used his success to help other people by supporting Glide Memorial Church and starting the Chris Gardner Foundation. ✎ Today Chris Gardner is still helping people dream big with new tools like virtual reality and his book Permission to Dream. He teaches the five Cs which are clarity, consistency, courage, conviction, and compassion.
